10 Key Differences Between Traction Batteries and Lithium-ion Batteries.

Chemical composition: Traction batteries are lead acid based while lithium ion batteries are solid lithium based.

Cycle life: Traction batteries have a lower cycle life than lithium-ion batteries. Traction batteries can last up to about 1000 cycles, while lithium-ion batteries can last up to about 3000 cycles.

Memory effect: Traction batteries have a memory effect, while lithium-ion batteries do not. The memory effect causes the batteries to store less energy and have a shorter life.
